Dr. John Schilkowsky holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from South College. Additionally, he was board-certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2023 after completing an orthopedic residency through Evidence in Motion. 

John joined the team at Academy Physical Therapy in 2024. Previously, John practiced as a senior therapist and clinic director for Pappas OPT Physical, Sports, and Hand Therapy.  He is certified in dry needling and has advanced training in pain neuroscience and the rehabilitation of running related injuries. John is passionate about working with patients of all ages and backgrounds to help them improve strength and mobility to maximize performance and meet their health and fitness goals.

John is an accomplished runner, having won multiple North Carolina track and field state titles in high school and competed for four years on Cornell University’s NCAA D1 cross country and track and field teams where he was a member of 3 Ivy League Heptagonal Championship winning teams. He holds lifetime bests of 1:49 for the 800m, 4:02 for the mile and 14:47 for 5k and continues to train and compete in the hopes of breaking 4:00 and qualifying for the 2028 US Track and Field Olympic Trials.

Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Charlotte, at their home in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Providence..
