Dr. Alex Immermmann PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
 

Dr. Alex Immermann holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Boston University and graduated magna cum laude with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University. Alex joined Academy Physical Therapy in 2021 as a performance physical therapist after moving from the D.C. area.


While at GW he interned with EXOS, a world-renowned sports medicine and performance team treating many of the world’s most elite athletes from division 1 collegiate athletics, professional sports, and the Olympics. After graduating, Alex served as the Director of Clinical Education at Cohen Health and Performance, a private sports medicine and performance facility serving athletes of all ages and
abilities in the DC area. This included educating outside health and fitness organizations, providing clinical mentorship for new staff therapists and doctoral students as well as guest lecturing for The George Washington University on “Running Gait Biomechanics and Assessment” and “ACL Injury and Mitigation Strategies”.


Alex’s professional aspiration is to get less people rehabilitating and more people training
towards their goals. He believes whole-heartedly in the Academy Physical Therapy mission to empower and educate each patient, helping them develop long term strategies to manage pain and maximize performance. Alex is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a multi-certified in Functional Range Systems (FRS) a comprehensive system of joint mobility training and manual therapy meant to optimize human function through a focus
on building useable ranges of motion, joint integrity, and body control/awareness.


Personally, Alex spends his time running and hiking, watching too much TV with his wife Greta, and their two cats Louie and Raisin!
